Even the most even tempered canine has its moments of abandon.
We here at weeping chimp put together our monies anyway we can to avoid have to work in the GAME. One way we accrue the lucre is to walk other people's dogs. Tomo, the other half, does the walking. I am holding the bag. One of our charges is a large chocolate Labrador named Doughan. Actually his full name is Mighty Doughan. D is owned by a very nice young, white, republican, Catholic duo of lawyers. Theirs is the only house I've been in that has a Cardinal Ratzenberger calendar hanging in the kitchen. It's very tasteful and inspirational seeing as it was shot by Wegaman.
Doughan the Dog is what you'd call mellow to the extreme. Often this dag will plant himself on the side of the road during walks and won't get up again. Two weeks ago the dog had a moment of activity which Tomo and I were inattentive of. He saw a chipmunck or a bird and took off after it. Tomo, holding the leash, took off horizontally through the air in cartoon fashion and splashed down on the pavement cheekbone first. She broke her wrist - the drawing hand of course. Dogs are dangerous creatures. They're making a fool of us.
